Thanksgiving TWO Days away!!

It's only two days til Thanksgiving anyone available to help out by buying some turkeys? You can drop off at Salvation Army, 525 18th St. Antioch (next door to the Dairy Queen)..... as you already know there is ALOT of need out there!!!

Christmas Parade- One WET Day!!!

It was wet but went well.... we had a bunch of troopers!! BIG THANKS to the Soroptomist of Brentwood, they were Great!!!  Smiled through all the bad weather and made the float look spectacular.  Ruth Buzzard was another one of the troopers, she waded through it all without one complaint!!!! Special Thanks to Tom Jepsen for his Dodge and trailer and to Anthony Silva, he had the tarp that saved the ladies!!

Brentwood Christmas Parade, Saturday, Nov 20, Streets of Brentwood

WE ARE GETTING READY FOR THE NOV 20 CHRISTMAS PARADE AT THE STREETS OF BRENTWOOD... PLEASE BE THERE AND SUPPORT ALL THE KIDS WHO ARE MAKING THIS WORK!!!! Salvation Army-Delta Corps will have a float in the parade "womaned" by the S girls from Soroptomist of the Delta!!

Was at a business luncheon yesterday and who should sit beside me but Ruth Goodin, Senior Foundation Director for LMC (Los Medanos College).  I mentioned that I had taken a short course in grant writing and a few classes at the Foundation Center because I hoped to use these new skills for the Salvation Army-Delta Corps.   

Ms. Goodin mentioned that she had just written for and received a 3.2 million dollar grant for LMC!!! Wow!!!  So of course the obvious next question was "will you please mentor me" in my attempts at grant writing, her response "YES"!!!!!!!!!!  I am soooo excited about this development!!!
